Located in the iconic A’DAM Tower, built in 1971 on the Amsterdam IJ-river waterfront, the 108-guestroom Sir Adam offers stunning views of the historic city and is in close vicinity to many of the city’s hippest movers and shakers. Internationally renowned music and entertainment companies MassiveMusic and ID&T are also tenants of the tower, as well as MADAM, Amsterdam’s highest nightclub, which sits on the top floor. Sir Adam includes a state-of-the-art gym, the BeerGarden, and creative studios where guests can collaborate. ICRAVE, the renowned New York-based design studio, is responsible for Sir Adam’s rooms, a “living lobby” called The Butcher Social Club, and a “music library” with carefully curated tracks. It’s the perfect, stylishly artful home base from which guests can embark on their own journey into the creative heart of Amsterdam.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
For Sir Albert, adopted Amsterdammers Liran Wizman and Bram Van Der Hoek developed a unique concept in terms of storytelling, authenticity, and design. The duo, from Israel and the south of Holland respectively, believe guests want more than just a souvenir, but seek emotional memories and authentic experiences. Having worked together after Wizman bought Park Hotel Amsterdam, which Van der Hoek was managing, they realized they had the same attitude, style ideas, and work ethic. The pair have already opened a sister hotel in Berlin, and are currently working on further expanding the SIR luxury boutique hotel brand to other cities.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Sir Adam Hotel spans the first eight floors of the newly refurbished A’DAM Tower, which presides over the IJ-river in central Amsterdam. New York-based design studio ICRAVE created spaces characterized by concrete columns and exposed ceilings, with the architectural highlights of the building including a revolving restaurant and a 360-degree sky deck featuring Europe’s highest swing.
