Great modern style hotel, situated in a newly renovated area of the city. Free airport shuttle, but it doesn't have the feel of typical airport hotel. Friendly staff, nice gym and pool area. Great breakfast in a the morning! I will be back!

My overall experience with this brand new hotel was very good. Booked two rooms, 1 for 3 adults and 2 kids, 1 for 4 adults and a small pet this past March 14, 2015. Both in 1 bedroom suite.
Staff: Check-In was very easy. Very courteous and friendly staff. Rooms were ready even on early check-in.
Rooms: Being so close to Manhattan and Jersey City, we expected the room to be really small as we’ve stayed in both cities in the past. The suite was big enough for everyone with fully stocked kitchen, full size fridge, bathroom with walk-in shower. The sleeper sofa was a big plus.
Amenities: Pool, took the kids for a quick dip in the pool. The Pool was a good size for city location. The fitness center is next to the pool with good equipment.
Parking: The hotel is next to the public parking garage. There’s a $14 nightly charge which is reasonable for a 1 night stay. The parking fee should be disclosed in the booking process as most travelers do not want this type of surprises when checking-in.
Location: Great location. We went to the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan. Ferry out of New Jersey Liberty Park is way better than Battery Park. There are also a number of local restaurants, café, convenience stores, Liquor store within walking distance of the hotel.
Transportation: We brought our car so I can only say the distance between the hotel and the tourist destination was acceptable. The hotel is next to the Harrison Station. By car, the hotel is 30 minutes to Liberty State Park, Manhattan, and Malls (Newport Centre & The Mills at Jersey Gardens). They are also accessible via public transportation.
Freebies: Free full hot breakfast was a big plus. They offer full hot, continental, and Japanese(Asian) style breakfast. Free access to the pool and the fitness center. Free pet friendly hotel with signed waiver. Free wifi.
I will definitely stay again in this hotel.

This has got to be one of the nicest places my husband and I stayed at. We were there for a hockey game. They provided us with shuttle service to and from the game. The driver was polite and kind. Everything about this hotel is awesome..

Rated 5 out of 5 by TGrec17 Get stuck in Newark, good clean hotel
This hotel does the trick. You are definitely not coming here for vacation so don't expect to be upgraded or be pampered as a platinum member. The breakfast isn't fancy, but it fills your belly. The shuttle is not scheduled so it is a little bit of a hassle waiting around for someone to come pick you up, but who can really complain, it is free. It is further from the airport than the map suggests though. It was about a 20 minute ride for us both ways. Overall, the rooms are clean, the beds are super comfy, the TV has tons of channels and all in all, it provides a good night sleep. Who can argue with that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kiki107 I was not treated as the gold member that I am
I was not offered my check-in gift, or even asked if I would like to upgrade. The staff seemed to be fairly new to the hospitality industry. I visited this hotel because I had to travel for business and will probably have to stay here again next month because of its proximity to my offices. I can only hope that next time I am here for a stay, they treat me as well as they have in every other Starwood hotel I have stayed in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by History28 a very good stay
Enjoyed our stay here as we were hoping to investigate an alternative to other hotels near Newark Airport. We had our own car so parking in the parking deck behind the hotel was not a problem. Know that the parking deck is also used for commuters taking the PATH train to NYC so you may have to park on higher levels but there is an elevator. This hotel is well suited as an alternative to staying in NYC.
We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the evening social was also quite nice. We were upgraded to a corner room which certainly had a bit more room and appreciated that very much.

The room was comfortable, spacious and very clean. The breakfast was good except for the eggs that were sub-par. The staff was very helpful! This was my first stay at an Element and I look forward to staying again.
