Four Points by Sheraton Gurgaon, Faridabad Road
Nicknamed the “Mall Capital of India” because of its dozens of shopping malls, Gurgaon is situated just south of Delhi in the Indian state of Haryana. It is also the state’s industrial and financial centre. Our hotel is conveniently located near the area’s key commercial hubs on Gurgaon’s main road, which links directly to Delhi. Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is only a 35-minute drive away.
Visit nearby Nuh and see its historical monuments, including India’s only shaking minarets, and Chui Mal’s water tank, an ancient and unique rectangular red-stone structure with impressive carvings. Sohna Lake is also a popular attraction. Tucked away in the Aravalli Hills, it is considered to be one of India’s most beautiful lakes; a famous hot sulphur spring is located there, too. Another picturesque and scenic area can be found at Damdama Lake. Rent a rowboat or paddleboat and cruise around, or get your adrenaline flowing by scaling one the numerous climbing walls. Bird enthusiasts should not miss seeing the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, which houses more than 100 species including pelicans, kingfishers, demoiselle cranes, and sandpipers.
For a bit of serenity, explore the Sheetala Devi Temple, a major Hindu pilgrimage site. Or take an excursion to see some of Delhi’s top sites, such as Red Fort, the city’s most famous landmark and a symbol of the Mughal emperors; Qutab Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret that soars 72.5 metres high; and Connaught Place, one of Delhi’s most vibrant business districts.
