The Four Points is a wonderful hotel. The stay was made all the more comfortable by the kind attention of all of the Staff. The rooms are very clean, spacious and meticulously serviced by the housekeeping team.

I frequently travel to Qingdao for business, and usually stay at downtown Le Meridian. I noticed this new hotel near airport and decided to give it a try. Based on their website, this hotel offers free shuttle bus from/to airport, and I did reserve the airport pickup. It was an easy 10 minutes ride from airport to hotel, and got a free upgrade to a suite.
Although my overall stay exceed my expectation, given this hotel is only a Cat-2 level hotel, there are several areas can be easily improved:
1) Club Lounge: Unlike other SPG club lounges, this lounge is only open during breakfast and afternoon tea/cocktail. There is no way to get a cold drink for all other time. The selection for breakfast is much better than most club lounges, which offers almost identical dishes when comparing to the main restaurant downstairs. However, the staff would not offer you any coffee or tea unless you asked, and on average three to four dishes share one serving utensil.
2) Airport shuttle service: When reserving the shuttle service back to airport, I was told that they only have limited bus services, and the earliest one is @ 10:00am (and the latest one is @8:00pm). The current webpage is very misleading, especially to travelers like me who used to stay at a typical airport hotel. They did recommend me to use their paid service, which cost from $25 or higher for a private car ride, while a taxi ride costs less than $2. So I asked them to call a Taxi. What a mistake, the taxi cab was very dirty, the cab driver was rude to pedestrian and other drivers, and the cab dangerously cut through some narrow neighborhood roads. Although the hotel has no control over the taxi service, it is very easy for me to link my overall hotel stay with this bad taxi experience. I hope this hotel will improve their shuttle service to encourage the return guests. Per my experience, the ride from airport to downtown is much pleasant since the airport is easy accessible from the freeway.
Other information may be helpful: The hotel is next to a major shopping center with many local restaurants and a Wal-Mart style supermarket, and also next to a large city park. However, the overall environment is very dirty, and seem like it is an active construction site, and it will never end.

This is the second time I come to this hotel, and everything is as good as when I first came. The staffs are helpful, efficient and give me a warm welcome when I arrived; though my room is a little bit small, but it's neatly and clean; maybe the breakfast is a little bit simple, and some of dishes are out of service soon, I think this should be improved~ generally, I must say, for the low price, they fully meet my expectations, and I recommend this hotel if you need to stay at chengyang district.
