Stay: 14 - 15 Feb 2014
- Nice view.
- Good facilities
- Smart room.
- Nice environment and decoration at lobby and function room.
- Nice view at pool site.
- Friendly staff. (Akhmar and Hiqmah - Front Desk, Niezam - Wrapped)
- Room runner come not exceed over 5 min to sent the request.
- Waiting room to ready by 1440 hrs to 1710 hrs.
- Mini freeze cool too slow.
- Internet access in room running slow.
- My request to high floor but my room at middle floor when i'm check in.
- My request to stay at non smoking floor, but i still can smelly smoke segregate on the floor.
Overall ,I'm feeling impressed to stay at Four Point by Sheraton Sandakan.
Actually i like to travel SPG hotel around South East Asia.
This is third SPG hotels I was visit after Aloft Central Kuala Lumpur (09-11 Nov 2013), and Four Point by Sheraton, Kuching (05-06 Jan 2014).
However, i'll be come back again and maybe stay more than a night.
Thank you for give me nice experience to stay at Four Point by Sheraton, Sandakan.

Although my spouse and I have not yet stayed at your hotel, we first wanted to visit the ground floor eatery called Wrapped. The coffee and tart was fine. However, when we attempted to buy additional baked goods at the advertised 50% discount after 6pm, the cashier clerk responded that because the clock in the cashier machine said "5:39pm" we could not make a discounted purchase. The actual, correct time was 6:01pm. I pointed out to the cashier that his cashier machine clock was wrong- 22 minutes behind the actual time. But he mentioned he had to follow the clock as instructed by the hotel IT dept even if it was not the correct time. So my spouse and I decided to leave. Obviously the cashier machine clock needs to be fixed and it seems to have been neglected for quite a while so that your cashier could not respond positively to my spouse and me as Wrapped customers and as potential hotel clients.

Like this hotel, excellent location, beautiful view, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and spacious room. The WiFi in the rooms is not optimal.

Our room had fabulous views out across the Sulu Sea and it was great to see how the view changed as clouds and weather rolled in. Staff are very well trained, attentive and friendly. Each and every staff member greeted us when we saw them.
Nice infinity pool but it looked a bit cloudy so did not have a swim.
Excellent breakfast with a good selection of Western and Asian food.
A great place to stay if going to visit the Orangutan sanctuary.

I have stayed in a great number of SPG hotels and I don't usually write reviews but this was a pretty bad experience so I felt compelled to say something.
Check in - The receptionist checking us in was nice enough but another receptionist, thinking I couldn't understand Malay, made comments about me and my partner. Completely unprofessional and downright rude.
Facilities - One of the lifts was not functioning throughout our 3 days there. Our room's sink and bath did not drain.
Restaurant - When we came down for breakfast, there must have been 10 empty tables but not a single was clean and no one made any attempt to clean one for us. It took me 10-15 mins to get someone to clear a table for us. I also picked up on one of the staff behind the omelette counter passing remarks about another guest in Malay ( recurring theme here). This time I spoke up about the rude behaviour but there wasn't so much as a sorry.
Housekeeping - Room was not cleaned even at 2pm in the afternoon. Had to call housekeeping to clean up our room and even then it was a slapdash job, e.g., our towels and toiletries weren't replaced.
Room service - The food was poor and did not meet the descriptions provided in the menu, e.g., seafood in a tomato fricasse did not contain a single tomato. Our food also came late and half the dishes were cold.

Great stay! Amazing view that made us fell in love with Sandakan. Tranquil atmosphere that provided us a perfect escape to wind down from our eventful trip.

Check-in was not easy. We had some problems and it took quite long. They charge you 100 RM deposit (a lot of money) and we did not received any receipt until the next day, when we asked for it.
When checking out they will ask you for that receipt. We were lucky we asked for it.
- Good location and views. Close to restaurants and boats to islands.
- 30 RM taxi from to the airport.
- Buffet Breakfast very good
- Room very clean and comfortable
- Not enough amenities in the room
- Complimentary water for free
- Good hotel facilites. Pool too small and always full. A lot of kids.
- Staff was correct except when checking in.
