We stayed in this hotel for a night on our trip to Sandakan. Since we quite tired in the evening to go out for dinner, we gave it a try in the restaurant for the buffet dinner. Its the worst buffet dinner experience we ever had.
The food looks nice at the beginning but the service and the attitude of the staff are awful. Its not up to Sheraton standard at all. Its worst then a budget hotel. Since the buffet starts early due to the Ramadan and we went to the restaurant around 7.30pm, the food at the buffet are already cold, dirty on the buffet counters, foods are not replenish and some are already empty as the locals ate early during the Ramadan month. Worst is that around 8.30pm, the staffs are also taking the food from the buffet and all of them sit down at the corner and having a loud party.
We even have to wait a lady staff to cook her noodles first at the buffet counters before I can proceed to take my food. While they are all seating there having a party at the corner, they just don't care the guests anymore. Its so difficult to get them just for a glass of water as there is no more staff around at the restaurants. The food are all cold as they don't take care of the candles or heating system to keep the food warm. Its just an awful dinner experience.
There are even used tissue papers on the buffet counters next to the spoon to take the food and dirty used plates and bowls around the whole buffet area. When all of us leaves the table to get food together at the buffet area, one of the staff cleared everything on our table and did not even bother to apologize or to set our table back again. So we have to find ourselves another table that is clean and set.
The rooms are very nice on the higher floors with nice sea view and a quick swim at their infinity pool is also lovely.
Just avoid the restaurant. Even the Breakfast Buffet is not much better then the Buffet Dinner. Not worth to dine or drink in this Four Points by Sheraton. Its such a shame for Sheraton to have this hotel in their group.

Very bad attitude in approaching guest especially in reception counter and cafe. This is first and last time for us to check in your hotel.

I've stayed in this hotel longer than I stayed in my own house. The bed is great, very comfortable. Laundry service is fantastic. Food is average though. Facility need maintenance more frequently.

It was a shame we were here for only one night! The hotel was beautiful and the rooms very clean and spacious. Staff were 5 start, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. This has to be the best hotel in the area by far, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

1) The swimming pool is great. However, hotel should consider making it a non-smoking zone especially it is very popular with young children.
2) The aircon in my room seems to be a little loud, especially at nite when the surrounding quiet down.
Overall, a good fun weekend for the family.

Best hotel to stay in Sandakan. Facilities and the service are excellent. Being attached to Harbour Mall is an added advantage, especially for those afraid to walk around at night. Only complaint is the very expensive food at the Best Brew especially when you consider the quality you can get for the same price in other hotels.

Great staff, great service. Check-in was a breeze. Rooms were beautifully appointed. The view from the 24th floor was amazing.
Breakfast was done a bit differently to other hotels I've been at but it was really nice. The chef at the egg station was great even dealing with a couple of difficult customers she kept calm and kept everything going. She should be commended for her professionalism.
