Rated 3 out of 5 by The location is great, hotel is average, SPG benefits not recognized The location of this hotel is great, very close to the main seawall area in Galveston within walking distance to Pleasure Pier and some of the popular restaurants on the seawall. The hotel itself is just average and they did not recognize being an SPG Gold member whatsoever! That is the main reason we continue to stay at SPG hotels, they usually have great benefits and upgrades for being a loyal cardholder, not here. The hotel was not fully booked for the night, yet we got the absolute worse room location. It was on the second floor behind the incredibly loud elevator and the window looked out at the wall of the other building, which was only about 5 feet away from it. The AC didn't work very well either so on the whole it was a very claustrophobic, stuffy room. The parking lot is a joke and you can only enter the building thru the front lobby and one side door, the other side doors are locked. If you end up parking on the opposite side, you have to drag your luggage around the whole building. There is only one front entrance to the parking lot and it is constantly blocked by people checking in, plus a BMW was parked in the fire lane under the porte coche in front of the lobby the entire time making the situation even worse. (A previous review stated it is the hotel GM's car!!, It was a enough of a hassle for me to get in and out of the parking lot every time because of that car that as soon as the other review mentioned it, I knew exactly what car he was talking about.) The pool area was average, no towels available and the water was murky. The bar was good, with late night hours, friendly bartenders and drink specials. Rated 3 out of 5 by A good place to stay for a beach weekend / obnoxious & selfish GM This was our 3rd or 4th time staying at the Four Points and we're always pretty pleased. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, room was comfortable and good Starwood recognition of my Gold status. Breakfast was pretty good - only $2 room service delivery charge. Pancakes were delicious and so was our omelet. With all of the good things, honestly the only bad thing was that the general manager kept parking their blue BMW in front of the hotel in the covered loading/unloading area. The car was parked in the fire lane for hours upon hours - this created traffic jams and forced newly arriving guests to either park in the mobility challenged spaces or somewhere far from the entrance. The hotel is on a busy 2-lane beachside street, so when cars are forced to wait to turn into the hotel parking lot it creates a hazard for drivers and pedestrians along Seawall Blvd. My wife and I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff on both Friday then again on Saturday, but alas we were told: 1. Oh, that's our GM's car (Friday) 2. Oh, I think that's a handicapped person's car (Saturday, when there were 2 empty handicap spots - employee covering for the GM who does not have a handicap parking permit I think one solution might be to put a sign on a pole in front of the closest parking spot to the entrance without being in a fire lane. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel met all my expectations and more! Personnel was always attentive and eager to serve and help make us comfortable at every turn. Hotel is clean and well kept. hotel is close to attractions, restaurants and the beach is right across the street literally. July 24, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by THIS HOTEL NEEDS MORE STAFF! Two thumbs up to Stephen at the front desk, he was very helpful when I required assistance but clearly he was overwhelmed. Even I know you should have at least two people at the front desk when it's a busy time. He did the best he could with what he had. I had to wait 10 minutes just to get a towel. Rooms were nice and clean (linens smelled very fresh). The pool area was clean. One of the rooms had an a/c problem, although front desk quickly moved us to another room, he sent a facilities rep upstairs to assess the issue but we could hear the Manager over the walkie talkie tell facilities person "tell them to turn it off and on and deal with it, it will be fine". :( Shortly before check out, maid service was very rude when my husband couldn't confirm the exact time of late check out. Her records should have reflected what time our check out was since I requested it when we checked in. July 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not bad, but nothing to write home about The hotel was okay. It should be updated, but it's not in bad condition. I was not greeted as a SPG member upon check-in although the staff was pretty pleasant. The location is good. I stayed on points, but I don't think I would ever stay there if I had to pay. I believe there may be other hotels that cost the same, but more updated. Also, the ceilings are very low throughout the hotel. May 20, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff is outstanding! Will stay here every year! My sister's and my annual beach trip to Galveston was a resounding success, thanks to this phenomenal staff! Sam, Belinda, Lindsay at the front desk and Brie in the restaurant made us feel like family. They anticipated every need and always welcomed us with warm smiles and friendly service. Sam and Belinda, we can't wait to see ya'll in April 2017! ~The Sisters in 501! April 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a difference! New General Manager, New Assistant Manager - New Bartender - what a difference it makes. Clean, friendly, great front desk, great dining service, great housekeeping. Mr. Khan has made a huge difference in a short time - we love it. And he has recently hire Nime, as assistant manager. Now if he can hold on to great front desk staff, Jasmine, Jeremy, Lindsay, all will be good. And hang on to Bre the bartender, waitress in restaurant. She does the work of 5. March 27, 2016
