First, let me say that I stayed at this hotel on a two week business trip. I traveled to Penang from Austin,Texas. During my two week stay, the entire staff worked very hard to make me feel welcome and indeed succeeded at making me feel welcome. Shashi, Deen, Thea, and Gary the driver were all excellent and made me feel very welcome.
For Westerners that may be considering choosing this hotel, DO IT! The staff will make you feel welcome. The location is ideal. You can walk or run on the beach or just sit on the deck. The food is very good at the hotel restaurant and there is good local food available nearby. (Less than a 10 minute walk).
The facilities are excellent, (fitness center etc.) the view is outstanding, and the people are sincere about making you feel welcome.
One final tip. Rent Gary the driver for a three or four hour tour of George Town. You won't be disappointed. He is the best tour guide on the island!

It was a remarkable stay although newspaper did not delivered to your doorstep for 2 consecutive days. Good comfort and fine hospitality. Would recommend to friends and family.

This is the first 4 Points By Sheraton Hotel that I have stayed which has a lovely beach at its door step to complement the hotel.
Like all 4 Points Brand, the customer service is good. But they could do a little better with recognition for its SPG Platinium member. I had to spend the first night without a suite room. But they corrected it with an executive suite upgrade the next night.
The hotel swimming pool had a lovely view of the beach as one swims - usually available in its sister 5 star hotels. So this beach setting must count as a premium for staying in 4 Points Penang.
Kudos to the acting GM, Mr Fauzy Wahab, who was always present in the lobby ensuring things went well for its guests and for supporting his staff in their work. Mr Fauzy was even seen carrying the luggage for one of the guests. Thanks also to the restaurant manager, Mr Sarjiv, who was always also on hand to greet diners and chat with them making sure their needs were met.

I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Penang for the past 2 weeks. The employees at this property always go above and beyond to provide most welcome and professional services. I had a wonderful experience that will remember for a long time – amazing ocean view, wonderful food, friendly people, safe city, and many more.
I want to sincerely thank everyone at Four Points by Sheraton Penang, specifically the following employees!

Room was ok, but the windows has loads of hand stains. Room wasn't quite ready. Bathrobes and towels weren't in the room. Had to inform them to send it up for us. And seems the pool is for public use which I think it's sad to see.
Worst experience was at The Best Brew. We sat there for almost 20 minutes and there weren't staff to bring us the menu or attending to us. Asked for the menu, took another 10 minutes for the staff to come back with them menu. Totally a let down there! Staff were rude and not polite at all!
On the day before checking out, same thing happened at the Eatery. I had to walk into the restaurant to find staff to get us the menu. Ordered Latte and was given cuppuchino. The tables were not clean at the Eatery. I wonder what impression that gives us guest who are staying there.
Asked for glasses during my stay but staff came with glasses that has stains on it. I haveno idea at all what can I say about that.
It is really another let down by Four Points by Sheraton Penang.

this hotel used to be my choice of stay but lately the service and rooms were a big disappointment. The aircon, fridge, electric kettle and bathtub wasn't in good working condition and the room service sucks! And the guest service officer was arrogant as well.

I've requested for non smoking room but were given a smoking floor with an excuse all rooms were fully booked.Room rate per night is very high with no free breakfast.overall the room is very clean and the view is superb.
