The Underwater World
Khao Lak is the closest departure point to one of the world’s top ten diving destinations, the Similan Islands, situated about 60 kilometres west of the resort in the Andaman Sea and consist of nine small islands. Similan National Park is highly praised for its beautiful scenery, both onshore and underwater. Abundant, unspoiled coral gardens are inhabited by colourful coral reefs and dazzling patterned fish and other creatures of the sea. The visibility under the water is often as far as thirty metres. The islands are attractive with dazzling white sand beaches, dense vegetation, and huge smooth boulders. A diving excursion can be arranged from the Diving Centre at the resort.
Activities of the Similan Islands excursion include:
- Island Hopping
Note: The Similan Islands are closed from May until October, however we strongly recommend you to check with your travel planner or our reservation agent on the definite closure and opening date to avoid disappointment.
