Rated 2 out of 5 by Deigs A Lot of Problems
toilet was clogged upon arrival; mini bar never restocked; carpets worn and dirty; staff dragging heavy tables across the floor on the 6th floor above me at 2 AM - even after I contacted the desk; club lounge closed; most of staff does not speak passable English - a must in an international city. Spa staff would not allow me to access the locker room without paying...I am Platinum!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pspg Friendly and great location
The staff is great. The best part of hotel is staff friendliness and helpful. The hotel is very comfortable, located perfectly in Panama city for restaurants. Made me feel very welcome. Special recognition goes to Reynaldo and Marieth who went way out of their way to help with any need. There was an initial problem getting the room we requested but that got straightened out and we had a great three night stay. Staff was great except check in manager.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wethen My room was very nice but there is too much noise from street and nightclub. Needs heavy curtains to muffle street noise
Nice staff. room number 215 too noisy at night especially from four lane street outside. Food in restaurant very good. Burger, large with cheese and bacon and condiments $10USD was very tasty with best hot crisp fries ever!

We loved the hotel. The pool was not super nice but the rest of the hotel was gorgeous. Reynaldo in the front was a spectacular help!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TonyB1978 Fantastic hotel...
This smaller hotel really is fantastic! The platinum recognition was off the charts !! Hand written note with fresh flowers and chocolates cupcakes (although I'm vegan) on the coffe table in the living room of the gold suite we were upgraded to !
The hotel was very low on occupancy and staff because it was Independence Day and I'm not sure how we would have been treated otherwise but the gold suite was huge and beautiful !! Bathroom was awesome !!
They should give access to sauna etc inside Clarins spa for platinum members which they dos not as far as I know !
The club is small and ok but no options except pretzels at happy hour for vegans ... But did have basic cocktails and beer wine !
Staff went above and beyond and brought my nephew a birthday cake (it was his 18th) and we were truly impressed !
All in all I didn't care for Panama that much but this hotel made up for it !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Welltravelled99 Great location, central to everything
The hotel staff were wonderful, very pleasant and helpful. Panama City was very interesting but there is an element of danger that you perceive by the amount of police presence everywhere (which is good I guess) and the despairity between rich and poor is very evident. The old town has amazing potential as you can see from the buildings that have been restored but some buildings are severely run down and habited by squatters, the despairity is interesting but frightening if you were alone. The Ghetto one block over takes it to a new level. This is not the hotels fault but we were expecting something different from Panama City, the hotel salvaged the experience.

Another fantastic stay at Le Meridien Panama. The staff is always polite and well trained by Mr. St. James. The perfect business hotel. Outstanding location and excellent access to Balboa Ave. and local entertainment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sperry8 The place to stay in Panama
A very nice property located on a happening street in Panama. Casco Viejo is not close by - but many restaurants and bars/clubs are just down the street.
As a Platinum I was upgraded to a large suite and provided free breakfast in their restaurant. Breakfast included made to order omelettes, breads and fresh fruit although not a particularly large spread - it did the trick. The suite is quite large (although dark) and filled with somewhat uncomfortable furniture. Still, it is super large, the bed is comfy and the bathroom is enormous and has it's own jacuzzi tub. I was also provided with a bottle of wine as a welcome gift.
There is a rooftop gym and pool/deck. It was too hot to sit outside on the deck but I did make use of the gym, which was nicely equipped.
They also have a club lounge with happy hour and free drinks and a few noshes and 2 computers/printers. Nothing special but a nice little lounge with friendly staff.
Front desk staff were super friendly and spoke decent enough English. You barely need any Spanish to get by here - unless you need to deal with the bellman to get a taxi.
The hotel is pretty far from Casco Viejo so a cab is required to get there. For some reason the hotel does not want to call you a taxi, they solely want you to use their much more expensive hotel car and refused to get me a taxi on multiple occasions. One day I relented and said OK to the hotel car - but the guy couldn't or wouldn't tell me the price. He spoke no English whatsoever and with my rudimentary Spanish couldn't come to terms. So I finally had to walk down the block to get a city taxi where I could negotiate a very reasonable price to where I was headed. Very annoying and the hotel should fix this.
If I came back to Panama I'd def stay here - but hopefully by then they have learned how to call a city taxi for us (or get a price list together for their hotel cars)
