The hotel is beautiful and the food was very good. The room was comfortable and well decorated. We were surprised that there were not basic amenities like free coffee and tea. The staff were helpful when asked but didn't go out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. We didn't feel pampered, if anything we felt a little out of place. The biggest surprise was the traffic jam created by 3pm check in. Then we had to wait an HOUR for our room to be ready and were not offered anything for our time. We enjoyed our time together but again we felt out of place.

The LuX Coll are a wonderful eclectic set and this is one of multiple stays at this one for me. The entire hotel is unusual in a very good sort of way. It is above a department store, part of the department store building and has a lobby on floor Eight. There is an atrium with the Urban farmer restaurant & bar which are all special. the food is all provinence sourced and very high quality for breakfast and dinner. Platinum recognition did not yield a suite, but there are only 10 in the entire hotel. The Club services are as fine as anywhere. This for me, a seasoned traveller is the only place to stay in Portland. You can even take light rail from/to the airport. Departures restaurant - Asian Fusion on the rooftop is also a must.

Much as I'd love to keep this gem a secret ( to increase the likelihood of availability for future family and friends visits) , this hotel deserves accolades. The staff and service are are exceptional, the well designed environment in public spaces is energetic and simultaneously comfortable. The rooftop restaurant is loved by everyone with whom I've visited or guided there. This hotel strikes a perfect balance between hipness and comfort thus appealing to a very broad demographic. This just may be my favorite west coast hotel!

Just a one night stay, but very convenient to be close to downtown amenities. Short walk, or cab ride to some excellent restaurants. The only shortcoming with the stay was getting luggage delivered. 2 bags were supposed to be delivered after being held at the bell stand and when they did not get delivered (after 4 hours passing from initial request), it still took 3 phone calls to locate the bags. The staff was very professional and polite but something went askew with the luggage storage procedure.

My wife and I spent valentines day at the nines. the room was very comfortable and the club lounge was fantastic.. Good drinks and food. I think the only drawback to the stay would be the water pressure was very low, I am sure it is because of staying green, they have the filters in place to lower water consumption which is fine, but I think they need to improve it a little because it took awhile to rinse the soap out of our hair. Other than that, excellent place, will stay again and will recommend.

My sister and I stayed one night for a fun weekend trip. Our room was comfortable, elegant, and so quiet. We enjoyed our dinner at The Urban Farmer and our drinks in the hotel lobby. We thought the bar at The Departure restaurant was cool but we were put off by the lack of table service.

We had a wonderful stay at the Nines! We were so happy with the accommodations. The Club lounge staff were so professional and attentive. The front desk and concierge were highly professional and hospitable. The housekeeping staff also was outstanding! We stayed for 3 nights during the snow and ice storm. Since we spent more time in the hotel then we normally do when traveling, we needed to feel well taken care of and we did! Thank you to all your staff for making it to work when so many places downtown were closed or with a skeleton staff! We'll be back! Cheers!!!
