Bali's rich tapestry of culture, art, and nature is underscored by celebrated sites just a short distance from Nusa Dua. Discover the indigenous Bali Art Centre Ubud, which houses the studios of distinguished artists. Marvel at the terraced rice paddies at Tegalalang. Or stroll through a local market, sampling exotic fruits and unearthing diverse handicrafts. Meanwhile, contemporary shopping can be found at the Bali Collection, an upscale department store offering international brands alongside dining and entertainment. A complimentary shuttle from the resort to the store is available.

Gain insight into daily life by embarking on an eight-hour journey to the traditional Balinese compound at Batuan Village. Once there, enjoy a picnic lunch at a characteristic Balinese house before continuing on to the art museum or village market.

For a glimpse of Bali’s famous spiritual life, travel to the Tanah Lot Temple. Built on a three-acre rock, the temple is an unsurpassed place to view the sunset. Or visit the Ulun Danu Temple, located on the crater in Lake Bratan. A notable 17th-century Hindu-Buddhist temple, it is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, and boasts a traditional Hindu thatch-roofed meru, or multi-roofed shrine. Another renowned stop is Kintamani. Bordering Batur Lake, it is made up of ancient villages, each home to a distinct culture.

After sightseeing, relax at Jimbaran Bay. Nestled just south of Kuta, the crescent bay is lined with white sand, providing the perfect place to swim or simply recline. Jimbaran is also the home to Bali’s traditional fishing fleet and the main market where they trade their catch. Consequently, a number of legendary seafood barbeque restaurants populate the shore.

For golf enthusiasts, there are multiple courses, among the most celebrated are the New Kuta Golf course, situated on the Pecatu Uluwatu cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, and the Bali Beach Golf Course. Located in Sanur, it is speckled with trees, lakes, and dramatic features.

Near the resort, Seminyak offers sandy beaches and destination shopping, and as the sun goes down the restaurants, bars, and clubs alight. For a wholly cultural dining experience, travel to the Kecak & Fire Dance at Uluwatu Temple, built on the tip of a coral reef. Here, more than 100 dancers perform on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. An authentic Balinese meal follows, providing an indelible finish to an inspiring day.
