The Duel in the Sun
The Duel in the Sun—where legends were made during the 1977 Open Championship. The renowned contest between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus distinguished the Ailsa Course as one of the world’s most breathtaking and iconic courses. To immortalise what is widely recognised as the greatest Open Championship of all time, the resort’s recent multimillion-pound renovation has unveiled a new dining experience: The Duel in the Sun restaurant.
Updated seasonally, the menu features premium ingredients and sustainable produce from local suppliers that are personally selected by Executive Chef Munur Kara. Fresh lobsters are landed in Girvan, just a few kilometres from the resort; and prime meat is sourced from Scottish producer Campbell’s Gold. Both of these delectable options are perfectly caramelised by the kitchen’s Spanish-style Josper Grill.

1906
Named for the year when the resort opened, 1906 is Trump Turnberry’s signature restaurant. Inspired by the resort’s surroundings, chefs are committed to serving fresh, delicious, home-grown food that is sustainable from farm to fork.
Each dish is a classic that would be instantly recognisable to any guest from the last century. Yet, cuisine is prepared with techniques very much of our modern age and setting.
Working closely with local suppliers, chefs have created 1906’s indigenous menu from a medley of seasonal Scottish ingredients. The vegetables featured are grown at Dowhill Farm, just a few kilometres from the resort, and delivered fresh to the kitchen daily.
To create first-class entrées, the resort works closely with Campbells Prime Meat, Scotland’s leading supplier of seafood and meats. Fish comes fresh from nearby Troon. Campbells carefully selects ingredients from our coastline to avoid unsustainable pressure on boats and fishermen.
Only the finest Scottish beef is served in 1906. Cuts are matured on the bone for at least 21 days to ensure that the best possible tenderness and taste is achieved.

The Grand Tea Lounge & Bar
At the heart of Trump Turnberry is the elegant Grand Tea Lounge & Bar, which has been serving afternoon tea in a relaxed yet refined atmosphere since the resort first opened in 1906.
In collaboration with Twinings, the lounge features more than 20 teas, all brewed to order using a traditional samovar. Our tea sommeliers will gladly make recommendations. Guests can indulge in champagnes by the glass and a light menu of finger sandwiches and pastries.
The lounge also invites guests to the indigenous Hendrick’s Gin Afternoon Tea. This specialty Turnberry blend tea is infused with Hendrick’s Gin, served from a china teapot, and accompanied by the traditional Afternoon Tea stand with sandwiches and cakes.
At night, the lounge comes alive as a meeting place for pre- and post-dinner drinks. Sample a glass of Trump wine, or let our knowledgeable bartenders recommend one of hundreds of whiskies behind the bar. Sip a signature cocktail, such as The Last Cocktail, which comprises Prosecco, fresh pear and rosemary, and Italian juniper berries. An evening food menu is also available.
