8th Hole of the Kintyre

Trump Turnberry has unveiled a new golfing experience on the Ayrshire coast: the magnificent King Robert the Bruce course.

The family of celebrated author Robert Louis Stevenson built the iconic lighthouse that is situated amongst the ruins of Turnberry Castle. It was in this medieval castle that King Robert the Bruce was born in July 1274. He went on to lead Scotland to claim its right as an independent country in the Battle of Bannockburn in June 1314. Turnberry’s long history has inspired the naming of our new golf course after this legendary warrior.

Martin Ebert, who was the architect responsible for the reborn Ailsa, was commissioned once more to create what will be a world-class golf experience to thrill golfers of all skill levels. Fairway bunkers with sand faces and marram grass “eyebrow” faces tempt risk-or-reward shots, whilst greenside bunkers are shaped and neatly revetted to require perfect recovery shots.

Breathtaking vistas from the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th holes delight with spectacular views of the resort’s stunning coastline, castle ruins, and lighthouse. With 18 holes of magnificent golf, the introduction of King Robert the Bruce reinforces Trump Turnberry’s reputation as a true golfer’s paradise.
