Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel Excellent service Most beautiful ground December 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A personal touch The hotel is luxurious and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Hotel staff always try to remember your name and personal preferences, so you feel as if they are not there to accommodate you because you are a client, but because they actually enjoy your company! Rated 4 out of 5 by Still remains a great hotel in the Southern part of Athens I have not stayed at this hotel in a really long time and it was great to go back after many years. Because of overbooking at the hotel due to a conference I received the most amazing upgrade ever to Bungalow 1001! I think that I am ruined for life now and do not know how I can go back to the hotel and not stay in the same room! Service was fantastic and the staff was really helpful, a massive improvement to what the hotel was a few years back! Great SPG recognision. The hotel is a bit old but there was been considerable improvement. Breakfast still remains fantastic. If you have business in the Southern part of Athens there is no better hotel to stay at. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent as usual.. Excellent as usual.. I have stayed at this location 3 or 4 times in the past and find the standard is being maintained continously... A quality hotel. November 13, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel, but the beach needs work and cafe needs more selection Nice rooms, great views. Fitness room and sports facitlity are good. The cafe menu is minimal, which is a hassle and disappointment. The room service menu is below average. The Japanese restaraunt, Matsuhisa's, is world class. Nobu Matsushia is a well known Japanese chef with world class restaraunts in Tokyo and New York, and has opened a restaraunt in this complex. Fantastic. Very expensive but worth every cent. The big disappointment is that the hotel does not clean the beach. I spent 45 minutes on a Wednesday picking up the garbage on the beach with my kids, put the garbage in the garbage can and when we left on Saturday, the hotel had still done nothing further to clean the beach or even empty the full garbage cans. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great sea view! Great location , friendly stuff ! October 30, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by 3 star hotel standard with 5 star prices!! Lobby: Average reception area, with poor design. The sitting area of the lobby lounge is more presentable. Check in only in reception not executive lounge. Not escorted to the room as other luxury collection hotels. There are only 2 receptionist and not enough to cater for the demand at times. Plus bad sewage smell in the reception area. Guest room: spacious with modern contemporary design. Nice balcony area sea view. However the suite is below the standard of suites of The Luxury Collection. Bathroom: modern, and spacious with steam room in shower. Executive lounge: very poor with very limited variety of food and drinks, and is not serviced. The sea view balcony area looks nice but the area is dirty and not cleaned. Room service: good service but during the day of the strike, there were employees however our room was not cleaned which I believe is not proper, especially that we are paying for a service. Breakfast: good variety of food Concierge: never saw the person and was actually off on Monday which is presumably a working day. Reception team have a limited background to offer concierge services which is expected anyway as its not their job. Plus the map shared is very poor and not clear compared to the ones of other hotels. Location: Beach property, 40 minutes from central athens. only 2 free shuttles to city center at 9am and 4pm which is very limited and believe not acceptable. Facilities: standard Other: Internet was charged for 3 days although was not informed of any charge when I have requested the wifi access point. No authority at front line to waive such a charge, and had to escalate a number of times although its a wrong business principle in offering something without disclosing charges! October 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice scenary The Hotel is in a very good location, nice rooms, room service staff is nice, waiters could act in a nicer manner, not very friendly. House keeping is inconsistant, one day they provide amneties, the other they don't. Housekeeping response is very slow. October 26, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by not satisfied 1. although when i booked the room i made perfectly clear that i was giving my credit card number as a guarantee and that i wanted to pay in cash, my card was charged, and when i complained about it at the reception i was told that the charge was made by some booking company, even though i had made my reservation directly to the hotel, using the hotel phone numbers. 2. there was no cd player, and not a decent radio, only a joke without cable. 3.at first i was given a twin room on the 1rst floor, and when i said i wanted one room with a double bed, i was told that there had been a request for a twn room, that was not the case.. 4. the light in the balcony was alight all night and i could not sleep well. Rated 5 out of 5 by Oasis Near Athens I reserved a sea-view bungalow as it was my birthday and I wanted to splurge a little. It wasn't clear from the site whether it had a pool or not, but I though it might not and crossed my fingers for an upgrade as it was already low season. We had a transfer included in our room rate which was a comfortable mini-bus which was waiting for us and which got us there quickly. I didn't get the upgrade to the bungalow with the pool...but I did get the best bungalow they had: very large with a huge (private) terrace, which I was very happy with (and really appreicate the attention to get Bungalow 1001 from the Management!!). It felt like a private house, perched just over the sea...where I actually got to sleep with the sound of the sea lapping against the rocks below. The hotel is a little bit strange, as it was likely built in the 60's so its very boxy, as are the bungalows, however, while it could have become dated (and it must be a bit of a challenge for Management to work with the structure), this kind of wide sweeping architecture has actually come back in to style and the upkeep of the building and grounds is so good, it still looks fresh. I would definitely choose a bungalow again, as they are all very private, spacious and especially for a few they have a lovely sea and surrounding view. The beach and swimming area isn't the prettiest I have ever seen, but it does have its own charm and seems very inviting and personal. The Taverna was already closed for the season but the bar was open and the barman was super nice and helpful to select a wine or another drink. The sea got a little dirty with quite a bit of garbage floating in, and one guy came to clean, but not with enough regularity (I put this down to end-of-season). Breakfast was pleasant, but strained yoghurt was in individual commercial packs (not like at Costa Navarino where it is in a big inviting bowl. My friend (Greek) complained about the breakfast saying there weren't enough things, but I thought it was fine, although compact...but I don't think we were many in the hotel anyway. What I found a little surprising were the staff at breakfast. The waiters have pretty obviously been there from the start, so while they are efficient, they have their own way of doing things; likely after a few decades, so they can seem a little "gruff". The loud chit-chat between them is really amateurish and reminds me ofBrazilian and Greek hotel breakfast buffets from the 70's....not 5 star behaviour. I had a Spa day which was great. The ladies were really attentive and the massage was awesome (even if I felt like somebody had punched me in the should blades for two days afterwards...that's how stressed I was; she completely unblocked me so this was good thing!). I felt bad as there wasn't anyway to leave a tip, which I woudl have generously done if I could. My one suggestion is for the room ammenities...where were they?? For such a gorgeous bungalow and true to Luxury Collection properties, you would expect more...I found the selection, quality and quantity poor overall. Also minibar not well stocked and just two glasses?? I spend on the minibar, but the selection was really nothing to get excited about; especially for a place that is a little out of the way. I only stayed for two nights but wished I could have stayed much longer in that beautiful bungalow 1001. The reality is, I didn't miss the pool anyway. October 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous location Wonderful location and outstanding waterfront Unfortunately we found some of the meals not as good as expected. Laterna37 was very disappointing but Marashitu was fantastic. The Thai food festival was also disappointing. September 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Paradise near Athens Due to my StarHOT status I choose not to stay in Athens citycentre because I wanted to try the coast of the mainland of Greece and extend my 2-week beach holiday at the Greek Islands. We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the private beach and view this resort has. The nicest receptionist (unfortunately I don't remember his name) gave us an upgrade and the room was fantastic! During the day we enjoyed the sun at the private beach and we were very impressed of the bartender at the beachbar. He gave us impressive recomendations about wine and when we asked for a "Spritzer", he served us the perfect alternative that was even better!. At night we asked the same receptionist for recommendations about restaurants and he had more than enough to recommend. Too many for one night, but so nice! Eventually we went to the hotel restaurant and we had a perfect dinner and ambiance. Very nice Greek wines, food and the nicest hosts. If I have to give feedback or critics: There was something about the waiter at breakfast. I could tell that he didn't ment to be rude, but he had a loud voice and gave an aggressive impression. Overall we had a great time at the Arion. The perfect ending of our vacation. Although I had the advantage to be a "Starhotguest" I would love to return to this Resort any time (even without a discount). September 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has a wonderful location You have the best of both worlds at the Arion. Wonderful beach and swimming areas along with the park like setting with close proximity to the city and sights. Relaxed ambiance and excellent service in the various restaurants is a plus. Select a Deluxe sea view room and you can't go wrong or bring the family and stay in one of the bungalows. I'll be back! September 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location Great location but the hotel needs more stuff September 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent! we could not have been more pleased ... we had booked a two day stay, but were so pleased with resort that we extended for an additional day, we wish it could have been longer, we plan to return ... September 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The hotel has great location beautifulsurroundings and rooms, very good service, things to do, very clean September 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeded my expectations I must admitt that the hotel facilities, especially, the beach were beyond what I had expected from a hotel literally in the center of Athens. I would certainly make it a hub, on my way to Europe. September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Times i would like to express my satisfaction for the excellent services at all levels... from security employees at the gate till the room services ladies. Great job!!! September 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Location in Athens in the summer We have been going to this hotel at least for the past 17 years or so. My wife is Greek so we always go to Athens in the summer for a brief visit and then go on some island. This is one of the best hotels in Greece and would recommend it for its excellent location, and five star facilities. It is also a great venue for company events. This year we also managed to get some recognition of our specific room requests and this is very pleasing progress. I hope they keep it up also for next year. September 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by The image of Greece This resort is really the image of Greece. With the good and the not so good aspects. Place is unique, vues amazing, perhaps one of the best in Mediteranean. Service ought to be better. Sometimes can be fine, some others unacceptable, depend on the people.... Breakfast is correct, but if you prefere to eat in the hotel, choose definately the Taverna 37 on the beach.VERY efficient and friendly service, good food. Correct SPG elite level recognition. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel - Bad Staff This is a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately the staff are disinterested/ambivalent about service. The hotel also overcharges for little things like internet, drinks and most surprisingly for visiting guests.. We had a guest come and visit us in our room. We were asked to pay 25 euros for each visit. Whether our guest used the beach, pool etc. It seems absurd that one cannot have a guest visit them at the hotel you are already paying for. It feels like small minded and inflexible management are milking the guests for nickels and limiting what could be a world class destination. August 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding hotel Excellent room, great service, excellent beach, excellent facilities. A true jewel near Athens. August 1, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful Resort in Beautiful Location! Exquisite location, fantastic views just 20 mins from Athens. Upgraded to a Bungalow - 440 sq ft - spread around grounds separate to main hotel. Superb spa. Food excellent, large portions, ample to share. Afternoon tea very nicely done- again - SHARE. Service warm and gracious. Free shuttle to and from Athens. Lovely design and richness of surroundings of Hotel. Only critism was that pool and extensive grounds need better attention. May 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location - lack of service After more than 250 nights at different Starwood properties I still think this is the most beautiful location I have ever experienced. The hotel is just by the water with great access to the ocean, beaches etc. The service is strange. No one really talks to you. I have stayed here several times and during our last visit my 8 year old kid rushed into one of the big window doors and almost past out. The duty manager came and told me he had to write a report, but no one asked how my son was doing. But if you want to experience great service there is only a short walk to the Nobu Restaurant. Fantastic food, great location and very friendly service. March 22, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best View Ever We had an amazing experience. The room were spectacular and the service was excellent. The view was incredible. I will definitely go back there December 25, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel in a wonderful complex great hotel part of a 3 hotel complex, upgraded to a suite due to platinum status, with view of sea & mountains. huge buffet breakfast (can order any type of coffee) with eggs made to order station. location a bit out of athens business centers but i was travelling off hours so was in downtown in 25 min. but a lot closer to the airport. enjoyed the whole stay, and this is my fourth one. free business center use and internet, and internet in rooms 15 euro for 24 hrs quite reasonable for a european hotel. free parking too. December 16, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Arcadia The hotel is situated somewhat far from the city centre (c.30Km/30minute drive) but the distance is worth the spectacle once one arrives in the beautiful, tranquil resort near Glyfada and not too troublesome as a shuttle bus is arranged daily to central Athens. The hotel is spotless, surrounded by trees and immediately adjacent to emerald mediterranean waters and sandy beaches. The room we stayed in was very modern and clean and with incredible views. The staff was irreproachable. December 15, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Preferred Guests are not Preferred here Every bell man, room service employee and maid had impeccable manners, good English and eager service. However, every woman we encountered at the front desk seemed to have a cold attitude. "I am a preferred guest" was met with "You have to just call customer service, I don't know anything about that". We asked one to send ice and heard, "Go to your room and dial "0". I asked a question about the spa special and was interrupted mid sentence with "You will just have to ask the spa about that, it is downstairs." Also, the concierge would only provide sightseeing suggestions that were guided tours - very cookie cutter. November 30, 2011
