Kauai offers a wealth of splendid scenery and adventures. Here are five top "must sees" compiled by our Concierge staff:
This State Park covers 16 rugged miles. Along the way, the 11-mile Kalalau hiking trail passes through five grand valleys where cliffs reach as high as 3,000 feet and reveal the grandeur of waterfalls and deep, narrow valleys ending abruptly at the sea. Consider viewing from the ocean on a guided boat tour.
Hanalei Bay Beach stretches 2.5 miles along a crescent shaped bay. Legendary for the wide, soft sandy beach and mild surf in the summer, the bay is even more legendary as a surf Mecca during the large winter surf. Just 10 minutes from the St. Regis Princeville Resort.
Located on Kauai's west side, Waimea Canyon reveals crested buttes, rugged crags, and deep valley gorges. The grand inland vistas go on for miles, which is why Waimea is often called "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific." The main road, Waimea Canyon Drive, leads to several lookout points offering breathtaking views of Kauai's dramatic interior and continues into the mountains and ends at Kokee State Park where there are trails for beginners and seasoned hikers alike.
Helicopter Flight Seeing Tours
Take in the stunning views of Kaua'i and surrounds from the air in a roomy Whisper Star Helicopter. The Concierge would be pleased to arrange a group or custom private charter tour. A premier luxury helicopter service flies out of Princeville Airport just 10 minutes away from the St. Regis Princeville Resort.
Experience the thrill of surfing at Hanalei Bay with private or group lessons by a local Hawaiian family that has been showing visitors the beauty and grace of the sport for generations.
