Seclusion Day Information: March 9, 2016
Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, use of electricity is restricted, and the international airport is closed.
In 2016, Nyepi will fall on Wednesday, March 9. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, and televisions will not be available. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. Our pools and garden areas will still be accessible except for the beach. Only indoor seating will be available at Boneka Restaurant. Gourmand Deli will close at 8pm. King Cole Bar will remain closed.
We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Thursday, March 10.
Disability Accessible Policy
The resort is pleased to offer a variety of disability accessible rooms. In addition, the resort provides additional amenities, such as a wheelchair, upon request. Please contact the resort for reservations or more information.
The St. Regis Bali Resort is pleased to serve alcoholic beverages to guests over the age of 18. The resort respectfully reserves the right to check identification for proof of age.
Age Requirement Policy
The resort requests that guests be 17 years of age and above. Guests below the age of 17 should be accompanied by parents. The resort respectfully reserves the right to check identification.
We regret that checks are not accepted as method of payment.
We accept travellers checks from resort guests and can exchange foreign travelers cheques at the Front Desk. The amount will be calculated from value of travelers cheques at the resort's bookkeeping rate. The resort has a right to validate the travelers cheques and requires a passport or ID for the transaction.
Connecting Room Policy
Requests for connecting rooms should be made upon booking and are subject to availability upon arrival. The resort offers connecting rooms only within the suite category, which includes 15 suites with connecting capabilities, spread through all floors. Bed configurations are king to two single beds.
Credit Card Policy
The St. Regis Bali Resort is pleased to accept all major credit cards.
According to Indonesian law, settlement by credit card is charged in local currency. The resort takes no responsibility for subsequent exchange rates used by credit card companies after guests' departure. Credit card charges are subject to additional currency conversions by banks or credit card companies, which are not within the resort’s control and may impact the amount charged to a guest's credit card.
Rates confirmed in USD are guaranteed in U.S. dollars when paid in U.S. cash or traveler's checks. Payments made by credit cards at the hotel will be charged in the local currency equivalent based on the daily exchange rate used by the hotel. Currency conversions by banks or credit card companies in processing payments are not within the control of the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations.
Dress Code Policy
The resort requests smart/casual dress code at all times, throughout all areas. In addition, please note:
- Beachwear and slippers are not permitted in Kayuputi, the resort's fine dining restaurant.
- Shirts are required in all dining areas.
Early Departure Policy
We are pleased to accommodate early departures upon request. Requests should be made at least 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid penalty. Please note that this policy is on a case by case basis as terms and conditions vary. Please contact the resort directly for more information.
Early Arrival Policy
Early check-ins cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability. To guarantee an early arrival before the regular check-in time of 3pm, we request that guests reserve the room for the night prior. Please make your request as early as possible to ensure availability.
Extra Bedding Policy
It is the resort's pleasure to offer extra beds upon request for a fee which includes daily breakfast.
Family Plan Policy
Children who are 12 or younger sleep for free in the existing bedding of a room shared with a paying adult. Rollaways, child rollaways, and cribs may incur extra charges.
Gift Certificate Policy
We are pleased to accept gift certificates. For more information, please contact the resort directly.
Please present a valid ID or passport at check-in. This applies as well to all guests visiting and staying with the resort's villa and suite guests. The resort reserves the right to refuse any guest patronizing the resort area without a valid ID card.
Late Checkout Policy
We are pleased to accommodate late checkout upon request. Checkout before 4pm is based on availability. For checkout after 4pm, 50% of the room rate will apply. After 6pm, 100% of the room rate will apply.
Suite/Villa Occupancy Policy
Maximum number of guests in a Suite or a 1 Bedroom Villa is two (2) adults and two (2) children under 12 years of age or three (3 ) adults with additional rollaway bed.
Maximum number of guests in a 2 Bedroom Villa is four (4) adults and four (4) children under 12 years of age or six (6) adults with two (2) additional rollaway beds.
While we greatly appreciate our guests' four-legged companions, the resort does not accept pets at this time.
The resort is pleased to extend the use of our pool exclusively to resort guests. Visitors are not permitted in the pool area.
SPG Participation Policy
There are no standard rooms at this resort; therefore, Starpoint Award reservations must be booked at a higher Starpoint rate through your local customer contact center. Also, since all accommodations are either suites or villas, upgrades for Starwood Preferred Guest members do not apply.
The resort is committed to providing guests and associates with an enhanced quality of air and environment by providing 100% non-smoking guest rooms, suites, and villas. Please note that violations of this policy will incur a 250 USD penalty. Designated smoking areas are available in public areas.
The resort requests that all non-local residents present a passport valid at least six months from the date of entry into Indonesia, and request that guests have proof of onward passage (via either return or through tickets).
