I have stayed at Westin Dulles a couple of times lately and I am very impressed.
Rooms: Clean, comfortable and very well maintained rooms.
Fornt desk: Quick, helpfull and friendly.
Bar and restaurant: Very friendly staff who made a great impression on my family.Plus, always nice when big chain hotels can add a local flavor to the menus. I tried a cheese platter with products from Virginia,
Final say: This is how I expect a Westin to be be: modern, well kept and good service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SSCSMY Billing Error No One Cares To Fix
On March 30th, I stayed at the Dulles Westin for one night.
Next morning, when I was checking out, I noticed a charge for $3.68 as a purchase at the gift shop which I did not make. However, on the same portfolio, the charge was also taken off. It looked like an accidental charge that was removed.
However, the charge for $3.68 still appears on my Amex credit card.
I've been trying to get this matter corrected for over a week with more than 5 phone calls and no one at the hotel seems to be willing to call me back to fix this error.
Now, I can just dispute the $3.68 charge with Amex but as a business owner, I know that every credit card charge back can cost the business $25 or more. Therefore, as a courtesy, I wanted to resolve this over the phone, but I may soon have no choice to file a dispute with my credit card for $3.68 because I just don't want to waste more of my valuable time trying to save your hotel money.
I really did hope I wouldn't have to resort to posting this to get someone to call me back and fix this issue, but this is my last attempt to get this matter corrected. I would be more than happy to amend this review if someone would just call me back and fix this issue.
If this is the way your company treats customers trying to do you a favor, I don't know if I feel comfortable giving you my business anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CalCouple Great hotel to stay while visiting the Air/Space Museum!
From the minute the shuttle picked us up at the airport, our Westin experience was a great one! The hotel is a new, modern facility, located on a beautiful small lake in a very nice location. It is extremely well maintained, spotless, comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant and in room service is excellent. The shuttle to the Udvar-Hazy Museum was handy and prompt. The staff couldn’t have been more courteous, friendly and helpful.
We were very, very pleased with our stay...so happy that this is the first review I have written in my numerous hotel stays.
We definitely will stay there in the future!

I loved this place the moment I pulled up!! The entrance was very beautiful, staff greeted us with friendly service, checking in was a breeze, the bed was enormous and extremely comfortable, and we checkout was easy. We just simple dropped our card in a box on the way out right as we stepped out of the elevator before we headed out. We had a flight out the next morning (first flight) and the shuttle was waiting downstairs. They were right on time and they do pick ups and drop offs every half hour to the airport.
The neat part was that you were able to view your flight info downstairs by check in on the screen, print out your flight info and passes, and that was extremely helpful when you are worried about weather and having a cancelled flight!

Had an amazing stay after the Derecho knocked out my power for a few nights. Made a reservation for two rooms the morning after the derecho hit, showed up at the hotel at 10am and was allowed to check in! Agent even apologized for not being able to upgrade either of my two rooms and that they were on different floors! Agent gave coupons for free full-breakfast in the restaurant for all 3 people in my party (without me asking), even though by SPG policy only had to give 2.
Rooms were clean, no charge for my dogs, breakfast was amazing and was on top of normal plat. amenity. Dog walking trail with free waste-bags across from hotel entrance. Every staff member said hello when they saw us, some stopped to play with the dogs. Hotel was very quiet even though full because of the storm.
Pool area was very nice, big enough that I could actually swim laps.
Overall, very pleased. First 5* review I have ever given.

Per the hotel website, I called them when I picked up my bags. They said to go out and the van would be there in a few minutes. I walked outside and the van was leaving (5 minutes early) according to the person at the hotel that I had just spoken to. I called the hotel back and they said that they were sorry they had just left three minutes earlier and I would have to wait another 1/2 hour. I was upset because they knew I was there, but they didn't wait, so I had to wait another half hour. It was freezing (record lows) out and so I called the hotel again and asked if they could please let the van know to call me before they arrived and I went out to the pickup and the next van almost left me except that I ran after him. That is unacceptable for an airport shuttle. (the hotel website says, just call and they will pick you up…. a bit misleading… at least say that you need to be outside at exactly when the van decides to leave (not per the website or the person who answered the phone!)
I actually booked this hotel again for a week later, but I have cancelled it because the service was horrible!!!! And they should say that the shuttle will only pick up every 1/2 hour, and not say that they will pick you up when you call…….but only if you are waiting outside freezing for 57 minutes. I would have taken a taxi if I had know that I would have to wait for one hour freezing outside. I highly recommend that you do not use this hotel if you are looking for airport convenience!!!
The rooms were mediocre at best and very small.
As a side note, if you arrive late at the hotel, is no food or bar after midnight.

We were overjoyed with the experience we had at this Westin. I have stayed at at least 10 different Westin locations in the last couple of years (always with Starwood) and have been satisfied with the overall brand but this one took the cake. We recently got a dog and found out that the Westin Washington Dulles allows pets at no additional cost and since this was an emergency trip we were so grateful to have a familiar place to stay with our new addition. The staff was so friendly and welcoming that all three of us felt like a part of the family. I had always assumed pet friendly hotels would be second string establishments but I would go back to this Westin whether I had a pet or not. The gym, the pool, and the grassy front was immaculate and we had a wonderful time all around. Thanks again.

This hotel, while meets and most times exceeds the standards of a hotel of this caliber, it is its STAFF that make my stays here the most pleasant and make me want to come back every week. Since I stay here more often than I do my own home, I have come to know all of the staff personally and would call them my adopted family. They have treated me with respect and the care that I feel would make anyone feel the same way.
Just as with any "home" there are "repairs" that are constantly needed for maintenance and upkeep. Since my stays here are extended, I would ask that the in room refrigerators be serviced as none of them have been able to accommodate keeping my dinner leftovers cold. Also, the housekeeping staff does not always leave the bathroom the cleanest (mirrors and counter tops are smeared). But these are minor in comparison to the overall experience.
I would, and do, recommend this hotel to everyone who asks where I stay when I am in Herndon!
