Had a wonderful experience at Westin Desert Willow, however, one thing would have made our stay even better. The main pool complex is really nice with the lower pool being a great venue for adults with children. They have activities and a great slide. The upper pool should be designated as a quiet pool. No problem with kids in the pool if they and their parents were respectful that adults traveling without kids would enjoy a little peace and quiet since kids have an area designed for their use already. It was loud and kids swarmed the pool without regard to others trying to enjoy it.

We are time share owners who own in Maui. I am always hesitant to trade for time at another resort because they are never as nice as Maui! But overall we were satisfied with our stay at the Desert Willow Villas. I especially loved the large pool where I could swim laps. This is unusual for a resort pool. The main criticisms I have concern cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms. We have encountered this before at other Westin Resorts and it is a huge disappointment to us considering the high yearly maintenance fees we pay as time share owners. Specifically here is what we found lacking in our villa. In the kitchen burnt pieces of old broccoli where found in the oven drawer and the shaving mirror was covered in dirt and toothpaste. The kitchen sink faucet was worn out and broken, the couch cushions were so worn out they were flat, the bed box spring frame was broken and made a loud noise, and the front door was stuck and you had to kick it to get it open.

Due to a tardy flight and slow baggage delivery, I arrived at the hotel several hours later than planned. I ordered a pizza from room service, and was surprised to learn that I could not order wine. Still confused about that as I have ordered wine with room service dinner at other Westins. I could not believe that the guy was carrying my pizza in a bag draped over his shoulder. I asked him to open it, and of course the entire pizza had slid and was a mess. I was now really tired and really hungry, and very unhappy. Another pizza arrived, carried properly this time. However I really wanted to thank Westin for not charging me for that dinner. It was not on my bill when I checked out. Thanks for making "right" out of a "wrong."

We really enjoyed our first stay at this hotel and wrote great reviews on trip advisor and yelp. This time we received horrible customer service at time of check in from a very unprofessional male employee who was unhelpful, condescending, and rude. He actually argued with us on whether or not the room we were getting had a contrusction view which it did. When we called management to complain he resolved our issue and moved us to a new room but did not even apologize! I was shocked and dissapointed...... If we liked your resort so much to come back one month later only to be horribly insulted by your staff I would say you have issues.

I would like to tell you that you have one great agent at your front desk. Jeanette made our stay over the top. We had a horrible experience with our airline before checking in. It took us 23 hours to get from TN to CA to include: missing flights, distressed passenger to a nonbranded hotel, 2 couples sharing a room, no food, horrible transportation, etc. We were visiting CA b/c my husband’s grandmother was in the hospital and we were told she did not have much time left. Jeanette helped us extend our reservation at your property when we decided to extend our stay (since we missed a whole day with his granny b/c of the flight). When we checked in she was great and told us how sorry she was about our trip so far. She walked us through the check in processes and was very nice. Not only did I appreciate her empathy about our trip but her sincere attitude that our stay at your property would be excellent. After we got to our room we received an amenity from her. I am not sure if this is something you do for everyone but it was unexpected! I know that booking a StarHot rate is a huge incentive for us and do not expect anything else to be given to us. As an Sales Manager for another Starwood property I would love to have her at my desk greeting my clients. You really do have a winner with Jeannette. Please pass along that she changed our experience and for that I am very grateful.

Everything was great, a couple of items in which I would think twice before I would return. Check out is at 10:00 AM, really?
No love for platinum members.....and to charge for parking? It's not like your in a urban location where parking is at a premium.....your in the desert. Great service at the pool, and was asked many times if I wanted a ride back to my room when your golf carts passed. BTW, no one picked up all the plastic cups at pool, which at 3-4PM, placed looked trashed.

I have just returned from a girlfriends weekend. Our two-bedroom lock-off was amazing and accommodated 8 women. We booked the premium cabana which was amazing and worth the extra money as it provided a reprieve from the desert heat. The grounds are stunning and I love that we could swim 24 hours a day. It was such a special experience. Stacy at the front desk went above and beyond and truly enhanced our stay. She is such an asset to the Westin! Thank you Westin for proving a great weekend for 8 of us girls. I would highly recommend this resort. It also looked like a great place for families as well!
