Rated 1 out of 5 by STAY WAS HORRIBLE My stay at the W was horrible. I had a very bad experience and will write this to upper management as well. Paying $277/night I would expect better service from a 5 star hotel. I had many issues with the hotel and here's a few to start: 1. I didn't have enough battery on my phone to last the entire night and I left my phone charger at the office. Not only did the hotel not have common chargers for guest to use (which I assume a 5 star hotel should have at the minimum because I've stayed at 3 & 4 star hotels that had this service), but I asked to have a wake up call at 7:30am and did not get the call until 8am. I missed a very important meeting because of this wake up call. I expect a 5 star hotel to have a wake up call ON TIME. 2. I had ordered food from a delivery service and the hotel staff did not allow the delivery man to deliver to my room. I had to walk downstairs and exit the building to pick up my food. This is not exactly a 5 star service I had expected. I even called the staff downstairs to let up the delivery man and they were very rude over the phone. 3. I signed up for the green program on day one and did not actually get enrolled in it. Everyday I had my towels changed and bed made. A 5 star should have their communication down to a T and not mess up like this. 4. As mentioned before, I was paying $277/night for this hotel (a total of $831 for my three nights) and breakfast was not included. What was the 277/night going to? Not getting the right service having a wake up call? Or was it their lack of accepting a delivery man DELIVER MY FOOD TO ME? This was ridiculous to me to have to pay extra for a horrible breakfast anyway... THIS WAS THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I am a consultant who travels a lot for work, and I will never recommend this hotel and this location in specific because of this experience to any of my colleges/friends. I plan on traveling to Atlanta a lot for business and I will warn everyone who considers this service against it with my horrible experience. September 23, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Over booked and long check in I arrived after a long flight to find that my room was not ready. I waited in the lobby over an hour and did not receive any explanation as to what was taking so long. Front desk staff was not that helpful and seemed as though they were brushing me off since some of the Atlanta Hawks were staying there. When I finally arrived to my room there were no towels and I had to call room service in order to have them bring some and even took about 30 minutes. September 18, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Room was fine but the customer service needs improvement Room was ok but we decided to check out a day early and head home. We were assured there were no early checkout fees or penalties and were told upon checkout that we would be getting $301 credited back to our card on file. We were also provided with a folio/receipt that states such. Now we have been told that the folio has been changed, there was an early checkout fee and that no refund is due. Won't be staying again with this hotel or any other within the same company. September 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by W Downtown Atlanta My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night and we really enjoyed it. I needed to pick her up at the airport later in the day and arrived early to make sure we were checked in etc. When I got there I wanted to check out the hotel amenities while I waited to be checked in and Karl immediately took me up to the 16th floor to check out the gym and pool (both of which are great). Along the way he made several helpful suggestions for our trip. He also suggested that I email Annette (the W Insider for W Downtown Atlanta) for further advice on what to do while we were in town. Annette was also super helpful. After this I worked on the computer for a while in the living room and enjoyed the free wifi access. Shenea called just after noon letting me know that the room was ready to check into. She was very helpful throughout the whole process but especially in getting us set up with a room with a great view AND an upgrade thanks to availability! Overall our stay was excellent and we had a great time - special thanks go to Shenea, Karl, and Annette! September 13, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Starwood Quality I was underwhelmed with the lack of service from the staff even at the Starwood counter. There was no service available for having luggage delivered to room, the transportation stated in the website for Amerismart failed to mention it was 'one way only'. Asking for car to be brought out at checkout was not allowed by phone, must be done at front desk and after doing so and waiting ten minutes, the valet service had never been informed. Staff was very rude and indifferent, will never stay there again, a total waste of money! August 8, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Never Again I had never been to Atlanta so i was excited to spend my birthday there and after looking at pictures online i couldn't wait to get there. This was supposed to be a wonderful birthday surprise, and that exactly what i got. When we pulled up on a Friday night (July 15) it was clearly a busy night. Didn't bother us because we actually looked forward to having some drinks and music in our hotel. The valet was unorganized and blunt and i understand that it was busy but i felt rushed and unwelcome there looked to be a mixture of people getting in and out of cars but if you ask me if i'm checking in and i say yes it would have been nice to just have someone ask if we need a cart and help us with the bags. No we had to ask and we also received a glare then once a cart was retrieved my bags we placed on the cart and pushed to the lobby where i met with my boyfriend while he was checking in. The Gentleman at the counter was polite and was a complete professional. The room was clean, spacious and the view was amazing. The bed was VERY VERY uncomfortable.i have slept on carpet that was softer then this bed The couch had more cushion and spring it then this bed. I can honestly say i would have been better off sleeping on an air mattress. I was completely dissatisfied and it was not a good start to the weekend. The next day July 16 (my birthday ) we called down for valet since it was a very hot day we waited for about 7-10 min till we made our our way downstairs to No car . After asking several people if the car was on the way we eventually got someone to actually go in the office where they keys were and then send someone for the car.While we wait in the heat. This trip aside from being with my boyfriend was completely disappointing. I do not plan on ever returning to this hotel chain. I was expecting so much more seeing how we spent more to have a better experience and the only thing received was a good view . July 18, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hip Hotel, helpful staff, lovely pool area Came back to Atlanta and I've hung out here before but never stayed officially. The usual hip W rooms and what a lovely pool area. I needed some changes to the billing and the staff was very very helpful. Valet did take a bit long to get my car. Overall recommended especially if you are young and hip! July 11, 2016
