Best Eco-Friendly Hotel (2026)

No. 8: 1 Hotel West Hollywood
West Hollywood, California
1 Hotels have committed to environmental sustainability, and their West Hollywood property is a showcase for those principles. Their Energy Star score is 95, one of the highest of any Los Angeles hotel, and more than 75 tons of reclaimed wood and many native plants went into the hotel design. Guest rooms boast organic linens, while the hotel restaurant utilizes produce and herbs grown in an on-site organic garden and pursues zero-waste options and sustainably sourced dishes.

1 Hotel Hanalei Bay

An oceanside sanctuary overlooking Kauaʻi’s North Shore, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is serious about sustainability. The resort has roofs that reduce and filter stormwater runoff and uses furniture made from salvaged wood. It’s also replaced non-native and invasive species on the property with endemic and Polynesian-introduced vegetation.
