As CEO of the private investment firm Starwood Capital Group, Barry Sternlicht oversees hundreds of millions of square feet around the globe, including a portfolio that includes the sustainability-focused 1 Hotels, the ultra-luxe Baccarat Hotels, and the playful Treehouse Hotels. Sternlicht also launched W Hotels in 1998, now owned by Marriott International.
